Bourton Almshouses

The Bourton Almshouses are still standing today and very much in use. They were built in 1845, commissioned by John Tucker and John Baker. They were built with poor and needy local people in mind. In the file there is an invoice from solicitors Sutton Ewens & Co, for their charges concerning the building of the houses and other legal matters. There is a Charity Commision, printed document setting out the trusts charitable status. It is expected that more will be added to this file shortly.
