Sir John Wildman

This Listing is a book on John Wildman by Maurice Ashley, first published in 1947. It gives a good insight into this complex character who historically, despite all his plottings and conspiracies, managed to end his days in his own bed at Beckett, Shrivenham.

There is also an article by A.W. Morley, written in two parts for the parish magazine in 1983.

This Listing also consists of a Presentation researched and written by Shrivenham Heritage Society Chairman, Bjorn Watson, who poses the interesting question, 'was modern democracy born in Shrivenham?' Wildman plays a prominent part in this study.
