Bourton - St James Church delapidations file

The title delapidations is an old one in that Parish Vicars, hsitorically, were responsible for the maintenace of their own Vicarage. What they had spent would then be passed on to the next Vicar (encumbant). But by the 20th century that had changed and repairs were overseen by a Delapidations Board. This file is a representative sample of some correspondence.
