Star Chamber Suits of John & Thomas Warneford

This publication was produced by the Wiltshire Record Society and donated to us by the Wiltshire and Swindon History Centre at Chippenham. As Shrivenham is very close to the border of Wiltshire, information that is of interest to the heritage society is often in that county.

The Warneford family owned an estate at Sevenhampton which borders the parish of Shrivenham. This book details five Star Chamber Law Suits concerning John and Thomas Warneford from the mid 16th and early 17th centuries. They have been transcribed as the original text and as well as the historical content they would be of interest to the historian of the development of the English language.
