These are examples in excellent condition of fuel rationing vouchers brought in by the British government at the time of the Suez Crisis in 1956. It was in preparation for the possibility of shortages which did not come about. There was a similar preparation made in the early 1970s brought about by the strikes and these vouchers are often confused for that period.
These were donated by Paul Radford and could have belonged to his father Barry or Barry's Father-in-Law, Wally Ilott of Shrivenham.
