Formation of The Pig Club
We don't know what this is really about. If anyone could tell us what a 'Pig Club' is we would be grateful.

Pig Club. A well attended meeting was held in the schoolroom on Thurs evening last week with the object of establishing a Pig Club for this village and surrounding district. Mr J.A. Fereman was voted to the chair. It was resolved that the club be called, ‘The Shrivenham and District Pig Club,’ and should include the following villages:- Ashbury, Idstone, Kingstone, Bourton, Watchfield, Longcot, and Compton Beauchamp. Rules were formulated and the following officers appointed:- Messrs J.A. Fereman (Chairman), H.C.E. Olliver (Hon Sec) and F. Yeates (Hon Treas). A committee was elected consisting of Messrs R. Boulton (Shrivenham), H. Coles (Ashbury), G. Haydon (Bourton), F. Hams (Watchfield), R. Gerring (Longcott) and A. Breakspear (Compton Beauchamp). The names of 78 members were handed in to the Secretary at the close of the meeting.
