Sale of St James' Church Glebe Land at Bourton

Within the documents discovered in the Deed Box that was stored in St James' Church, are numerous references to the sale of Glebe land belonging to the church. The tenant died in 1901 and was insolvent and he left the land in poor condition. The land is located at Swanhill (in between Shrivenham and Bourton) and measures 35acres 2 Roods and 4 poles. Cyril Kendall Butler of Bourton House offered £40 per acre which was accepted.
