Longworth House near Faringdon

Although this is outside of our usual district, this house is of interest to us because of the connection with Sir Henry Marten senior, the Lawyer. He also purchased the Beckett Estate in 1634, but it is stated in numerous instances that Longworth was his principle home. It is likely that the house has been altered and extended over the years. It is thought that the first, original house was built here in the early 17th century by Henry Marten.
